Annya and Guillermo are aspiring actors entering adulthood in Tijuana: Guillermo works at a Call Center and Annya is an Uber driver. After a misunderstanding, Annya ends up accepting a ride from a director who has just returned to the city to produce his new film.

Curator's Note

The youthful aspirations of the main characters are placed on the same continuum as the daily violence (implicit and explicit) of Tijuana and its history. What does it take to get up and keep working toward your goals? The filmmaker, Diego Hernandez, sets himself the task to film his own city with love and affection, acknowledging the bloodshed, but never giving in it the aesthetics of violence. The result is a breath of fresh air in recent Mexican cinema. - Jhon Hernandez
